Kalle the runestone carver

	or thousand years ago Farbjörn let carve a nice runestone as memorial over his son, a memorial that brought Farbjörn, his son Håulf and the skillful rune carver Halvdan far away in to the future. ... all the way in to our future, to our time.
One day the runestone passed my time, and my place. I touched the carving with my finger and read my first runic letters: "Farbjörn let carve stone at Håulf, his son. Halvdan carve runes"

The thoughts was overwhelmed, Farbjörn had made him self heard fare away from his own time, he left a part of his soul in that stone and give him self life in eternity and his friends.
They became a part of the history.

"Immediately I start to carve
my first own runestone".

But I became not truly pleased with the
result. The ornamentation could have been more beautiful. I decided to carve another runestone.

I got attention simultaneously as I found big concord in the work. Now, I decided to
become a full time runestone carver.

Then everything went fast...

A report in a famous Swedish business
magazine, (Dagens Industri), gave me a big chance to establish my self at the market.

So big, that I could not handle it at this time, but I did carve a few of runestones

In the following winter came an opportunity
to carve an unusual stone.

A ten feet long and two feet wide disk, of
granite would be carved with Nordic poem and ornamentation. It would lie in the front of a big fireplace as a decoration and protection against fire.

Years between 1995 and 1997
I spend I all my time to learn more about the art and colors.
My purpose was (and is) to become skillful, skillful enough to compete with the old masters
from the viking period like, Fot (foot), Öpir (loud-mouth) and Livsten (Living-stone).
Below you can follow the runestones that I carved under this period.

In December 1997 I moved to Adelsö, the Island there the kings lived in the viking period, near the Island of Birka, there the kings had its mart.

I get on excellent to dwell on this historical ground. My capabilities to live on my handicraft became bigger and I extend with guided tours in the ancient area, protected by UNESCO.

On a piece of land, near this area, I build
up my place of work and exhibition.

A wish came true...! The year 2000 I got honored to carve a runestone as a memory of Leif Eriksson who did the exploration of North America, thousand year ago. The runestone was carved here at Adelsö. When the work was completed, the stone transferred to Canada and became raised at the northern point of Newfoundland / Vineland. And I did go there too...!

When I get back home from Vineland I felt
emptiness, I had already created my most
important runestone. -What would I do now?

Now it was time to focus at the art, give the art a place in our time and make it alive again.
